Christian Education Ministry held their annual TRUNK OR TREAT Fall Festival on Sunday, October 23rd. Great fun was had by all. Our guests enjoyed walking around to all the decorated trunks and collecting goodies from each one. This safe place to ”trick or treat” was a wonderful time for the church and community to gather around the warm bonfire , enjoy corn dogs, popcorn, cookies and most important the HOT CHOCOLATE. The night was a success once again. All the trunks and ideas were spectacular. Our judges for the evenings event were Dawn, our talented FUMC photographer and Debbie, a Representative from Metzgar Elementary school PTA.
The Winners are
Most Original Winner
Scariest Winner
Our Youth Group “Christians in Action” won scariest. As Christians of FUMC youth they are blessed enough to have wonderful Leaders and Teachers that help them talk about and learn as a group to understand how scary it can be to be in a homeless situation. This Saturday November 5th be sure to visit both of our Youth ( CIA and KFC “Kids for Christ”) groups as they take this photo one step further. The Youth will build a City of boxes in our church parking lot starting at 5pm. They are collecting can goods for the food pantry. All are welcome to participate or just stop by to commend them on this sleep out project and for enduring the cold weather as they express their compassion for the less fortunate.
Thanks to all that helped make the Trunk or Treat event a wonderful evening.
Stay tuned for more photos coming soon on this event
