Outreach Ministries

OPERATION FRESH EXPRESS (OFE):  Through the Westmoreland County Food Bank, Faith Church sponsors Operation Fresh Express where members distribute an average of over 20,000 pounds of perishable food (frozen, dairy products, and fresh produce) directly to needy families.

MEALS ON WHEELS DESSERTS:  Every five months Faith Church members provide desserts for those clients receiving meals through Delmont’s Meals on Wheels.

CARE BOXES FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS:  In the fall and spring, members provide items that are packed in care boxes that are given to our students.  Receiving encouragement from their church during this time can make a strong, lasting impression on a student, drawing them back to their faith in Jesus and reminding them what matters most.

LOVE IS EASIER THAN HATE T-shirts:  Our friend Judah Samet, penned those words of hope after surviving the mass shooting.  In solidarity with the Tree of Life Synagogue Faith Church is selling these shirts to benefit the families and victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue violence.

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING:  On Super Bowl Sunday a second offering is taken.  This offering is donated to the Mother of Sorrows Community Food Pantry and the Loaves and Fishes Emergency Food Pantry.  Donations on Souper Bowl Sunday help to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children in our community who struggle to survive.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES:  Faith Church participates in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.  Samaritan’s Purse is an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the name of Jesus Christ.  This, in turn, earns the organization a hearing for the Gospel, which is the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.  Faith Church helps by packing shoeboxes and by being an official Relay Center for Operation Christmas Child.

SERRV:  SERRV is a nonprofit, fair trade organization dedicated to lifting disadvantaged artisans, farmers and their families out of poverty.  Faith Church is an outlet for these artisans or farmers to sell their wares.  By purchasing a special fair trade item the lives of artisans and farmers worldwide are improved.

SOCK COLLECTION:  Faith Church collects and donates warm, heavy crew socks for the homeless and less fortunate in Pittsburgh.  These socks are donated to the First Food and Friends Program of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh.  This program provides a meal, Bible Study, and periodic medical checkups for the homeless and less fortunate of Pittsburgh.

LOAVES AND FISHES EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY:  This food pantry located in the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church in Murrysville provides a 3 day emergency food pantry.  Most needed items are canned soups, canned vegetables, canned vegetables, canned tuna fish, program cereal, pasta, canned spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese, paper products, aluminum foil, hygiene products and pet food.  A collection bin designated for your donations, is located in our gathering area. 

FRIENDS THRIFT SHOP:  Faith Church supports the Friends Thrift Shop in Export by donating gently-used items or clothes.  This Thrift Shop accepts clothing, furniture, household goods, and children’s items in order to assist people, families and the communities of Murrysville, Export and Delmont.  Collection bins designated for your donations, is located in our gathering area.

PROJECT HAPPY FEET:  Project Happy Feet is a Greensburg District United Methodist Mission that provides shoes to children in low-income families.  Faith Church participates in this project by donating a second offering to this program.

BLACKBURN CENTER:  The Blackburn Center provides temporary emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence and their children.  The shelter provides a safe, comfortable where a victim can plan for their future.  Faith Church participates by donating monetary funds, as well as, new kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and miscellaneous items.

MOTHER OF SORROWS COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY:  Faith Church participates by:

  • Providing Christmas Breakfast Bags filled with breakfast items (cereal, canned fruit, hot chocolate mix, coffee cake mix, jar of jelly, non-breakable Christmas tree ornament and Christmas card) are prepared and donated to the food pantry.
  • Hosting a Hospitality Table at the monthly food distribution.  Cookies/cupcakes and a drink are made available to the waiting clients.
  • Donating Laundry Detergent in the Spring so that each family does not need to choose between clean clothes or buying food for their family.
  • Volunteering at the food pantry.

CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE DELMONT ARK PERSONAL CARE HOME:  Faith Church provides Christmas Presents for the residents of the Ark as well as attending the Christmas Party at the Ark.
