Re-entry Letter

June 2020

Dear Faith Church Family and Friends,

Joy to you all! It’s been a long spring as we’ve dealt with mitigating the spread of COVID-19. Our parking lot services, which are also streamed online, have allowed our Faith family to continue worshiping safely throughout this time. How blessed we’ve been!

When we entered our current “green phase,” churches were advised to be more cautious than other events and businesses. Faith Church has been carefully considering the guidelines published by the CDC, State of Pennsylvania, and Western PA Conference. With the arrival of summer, we’re announcing plans to reopen our sanctuary for limited in-person worship starting on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at 9:15 AM.

As we return, Faith Church will exercise extreme caution to keep our church family safe. However, we acknowledge that there are members with high health risks and that not everyone may feel comfortable returning. Therefore, we will offer several ways to join in the Sunday service which will be conducted by Rev. Raptosh from the sanctuary. Here are the choices:

  1. Limited seating for 70 persons will be available in the sanctuary as we maintain 6’ social distancing in every other pew.
  2. The service can still be heard from your vehicle in the parking lot.
  3. The service will continue to be live-streamed for viewing online.

Concerned for the health of our dear family in Christ, we move into this re-entry with prayers that we will “love one another” well. Deep cleaning is routinely done in our building, and hand sanitizer is available throughout. In addition, the following procedures have been adopted to minimize infection risk at the in-person services. Please understand the love behind the enforcement of these measures:

  1. If you are feeling sick, please worship in your car or via the live-stream.
  2. The Sanctuary double glass doors will open at 9:00am, per ongoing Safety & Security policy.
  3. Masks are required to be worn while inside. My mask protects you. Your mask protects me.
  4. In lieu of passing attendance pads, a greeter in the gathering area will record names of people entering the building (for contact tracing purposes.)
  5. Once the max capacity is reached, you will be asked to worship in your car.
  6. Every other pew will be marked where persons are to sit for safe seating distances.
  7. Restroom occupancy is limited to one person at a time.
  8. Access to other areas of the building will be restricted.
  9. Containers will be placed in the gathering area and parking lot for offerings.
  10. Bring your own Bible. Bibles and hymnals will be removed from pew racks.
  11. The order of worship will be projected. Bulletins will not be provided, but you may print a copy from the church website to bring with you if you would like.
  12. At the end of the service, people are to remain in their pews until ushers dismiss them pew by pew to exit the building at safe distances.

This protocol will be followed as we pray and wait for things to ease up. In the meantime, let’s gladly do all we can to keep one another safe.
